Apple iPhone 4 has 512MB RAM

A lot of mystery shrouds around the internal hardware of Apple's freshly announced iPhone 4. As MacRumors pointed out, the new iPhone 4 has 512MB RAM so that it can run the official iMovie app smoothly. The iMovie app is one of the Apple's official apps that would be released for the iPhone 4. This means Apple has added twice the amount of RAM in iPhone 4 than in iPad and iPhone 3GS.

Apple has made Worldwide Developer Conference 2010 session videos available to registered developers. German website Macerkopf put up a screenshot from one of those session videos that stated iPhone 4 is indeed clad with 512MB RAM. Beefing up the iPhone 4 with more memory will surely make the interface and multi-tasking snazzier. The company had declined to share the clockspeed of custom built A4 SoC processor and RAM details at the WWDC Keynote.

The iPhone 4 uses the same A4 processor found in the iPad but it's likely that it is underclocked and hence Apple doesn't want to reveal details. So far, we have the details that iPhone 4 has a 512MB RAM that would make gaming, multi-tasking and even video editing in iMovie a lot more fun.
